AGGIE’S DIY WINTER GLOW HAIR & FACE MASKS
We love face masks and there’s nothing better than creating them ourselves at home!
Here at Cardoon, we are keen to find high-performing ingredients that can be easily found in our garden or kitchen pantry such as pure honey, cinnamon, aloe vera. We just mix these ingredients with others like our magic Baobab Skinfood Powder that can treat skin conditions like skin elasticity, skin pigmentation, skin inflammation eg. acne, overall puffiness, and skin dehydration. You can experience all of these conditions regardless of your skin type.
Since these DIY masks are made of active and fresh ingredients, and do not have any of those skin-irritating preservatives and other skin-harming ingredients in them, you get a real skin boost.
Hey, I am Aggie, co-founder of Cardoon, and today I brought a combo of two masks that I love to treat myself to on a cold winter day. Hence I call it my ultimate winter glow hair and face mask.
Btw, excuse my serious look. I was trying hard to take a smiley picture but I am telling ya, it’s impossible when you have a mask on. 🙂
So here are the two beauty masks for hair and face.
HAIR GROWTH MASK
Clary sage oil contains linalyl acetate that helps make lavender oil so effective in increasing hair growth. It can improve hair strength, in addition to increasing hair growth.
I gather essential oils from my local health store or chemist but I also order some oils like the clary sage online.
Ingredients – 10 drops each oil
- Clary Sage oil
- Lavender oil
- Tea Tree oil
- Frankincense oil (this oil has fantastic benefits but is a bit pricy so you can leave it out)
- Rosemary oil
I add ingredients to a 100ml spray bottle and top them up with carrier oil (Jojoba Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Moringa Oil are my favorites). Then I spray it on my roots and massage it in a circular motion. I love using my Milla White Jade Gua Sha to give the blood circulation of my sculpt a boost. I wrap it with a towel and leave it on for an hour. Then I wash it off while I wash my hair. My hair feels stronger and shinier for days after this treatment.
FACE MASK WINTER GLOW
This is such a simple DIY recipe that can be made in 3 mins and I always have the ingredients at home.
- half tsp turmeric powder
- Baobab Skin Nourishing Superfood Powder
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 tsp pure aloe vera gel
- few drops of rose water
Mix it in a small saucer and apply it immediately. Add enough rose water to get the right consistency. You should get a creamy paste that can be applied easily to your face. Leave it on for 20-25 mins. I usually apply the hair mask, wait 40 mins then apply the face mask so I can just jump into the shower and wash both off.
I would love for you to try it and let me know how you like it.
Love and Glow,
And just wanted to make sure that you don’t miss out on our 14 DAY SKIN RESET PROGRAM packed with similar skin-nourishing recipes, facial exercises and so much more.
Did you know?
Here are a few skin benefits of some of the ingredients I used above:
Clary Sage oil – Clary sage oil contains linalyl acetate that helps make lavender oil so effective in increasing hair growth. It may improve hair strength, in addition to increasing hair growth. It can also provide hormone balancing, relaxing qualities.
Cardoon Skincare’s Baobab – It is not only a natural collagen production booster, but it also keeps the immune system strong, as it contains 6 times more Vitamin C than an orange. Moreover, its fruit has more antioxidants than any other fruit in the world. Baobab is also rich in omega fatty acids to fight inflammation, therefore it is a great choice for sensitive and inflamed skin types also. If you decide to get it, why don’t you try our organic Baobab?
Tea Tree oil – It can improve blood flow and allow nutrients to reach hair follicles, balances the pH level of the scalp, and stimulate the hair growth cycle to give you a head full of strong healthy hair. It may also soothe an itchy scalp, reduce dandruff and flaking, and prevent excess oil production. What an amazing ingredient!
Frankincense oil – This oil gives the hair shiny and moisturized. Frankincense wards off dandruff by preventing the scalp from getting dry and flakey. It can also soothe hair follicles which helps to facilitate hair growth at the root.
Turmeric – Turmeric contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory components. These may provide glow and luster to the skin. It has skin-lightening properties which may help you get rid of dark spots effectively. Using turmeric along with other moisturizing ingredients such as milk or honey will help improve your skin complexion.
Aloe vera – Aloe vera acts as a moisturiser without giving it a greasy feel, so it is perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion. It contains antioxidants, enzymes, Vitamins A and C, and it is highly anti-inflammatory. It can help treat burns, acne, and dry skin. When it comes to acne, Aloe Vera works best on superficial surface acne rather than cystic or deeper acne.
