Vitamins are playing a super important role in achieving a strong and youthful skin. Therefore, it has to be an essential part of our skincare regimen.

Let’s start with the essentials and share with you the 4 basic vitamins that everyone should take as a supplement and apply them also topically.

1. VITAMIN D

Vitamin D, the ‘sunshine vitamin’, has so many important functions and I wasn’t considering it at all until my son was born.
I added Vitamin D to his diet to make sure his body can absorb calcium and his bone, muscles, and teeth could grow strong!
Now Vitamin D has also an important role in skin protection and rejuvenation, as it contributes to skin cell growth, repair, and metabolism.
Where vitamin D found?
For vegans: orange juice, mushrooms, soy yogurt, almond milk, parsley!
vegetarians can add egg yolk, yogurt, cheese to their diet. All these are rich sources of vitamin D.
We can also apply vitamin D topically to the skin, research shows that D3 can be absorbed by the skin effectively, so it’s an extra goodie that you can do for your skin health.
Strawberry, soy yogurt, and oatmeal mask will not only help you to apply vitamin D topically but also helps to exfoliate and let vitamins penetrate deeper in the skin.
Stir all together, apply on your face, neck, and chest area and leave it on for 15 min. Then wash it off by lukewarm water!

2. VITAMIN A

Vitamin A is the restorative vitamin that we love, as It helps to speed up healing, prevent breakouts, strengthen collagen, it helps to hydrate the skin and contributes to a healthy dermis and epidermis, the 2 top layer of the skin.
Vitamin A also can be consumed and applied topically (it is a well-known ingredient in anti-aging serums, facial oils and moisturizers)
since it can increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun, safer you use it as part of your evening skincare routine. If you apply it in the morning, don’t forget your sunscreen and reapply it every 2 hours!
Where vitamin A found?
Orange, carrot and other yellow-colored veggies and fruits (but great source in also broccoli, spinach, and moringa, as they all contain beta carotene :))
Vegetarians can also add eggs, goat cheese, butter, cheddar, Camembert, blue cheese, feta cheese.
When We use it?
Apply topically in the evening.

3. VITAMIN E

Vitamin E is the most hydrating vitamin and it also a top anti-oxidant!
It should be never missed from any skincare regime, specially when summer is at the corner, as Its main function is to protect against sun damage. When applied topically, It absorbs the harmful UV lights, and reduces the damage caused by UV rays. So if you “fight” against dark spots and wrinkles, this vitamin should be on top of your list!
Where Vitamin E found?
Nuts, seeds such as almonds, hazelnuts. Sunflower seeds, green leafy vegetables such as moringa!
When We use it?
Apply it in the evening as the final touch.
It can be used as its own or used in conjunction with vitamin C and Ferulic acid.

Where can vitamin C found?
In citrus foods, orange, other fruits and veggies like strawberry, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, and our big-time favorite, baobab!
When We use it?
In the mornings to give protection from free radicals and it also boosts the protection form the sunscreen!
